Hi everyone, My name is Samuel Okeke, am a Nigerian Jew. For a long time, my dream has been to immerse myself in Jewish learning, and I’ve been given a life-changing opportunity to do just that in Israel. I’ve been awarded a scholarship that will cover my full tuition at a yeshiva for an entire year! It’s a true blessing, and it’s the key that unlocks the door to this experience. But, as I’ve been preparing for this journey, I’ve realized that the other costs of living are significant. The scholarship covers my learning, but I’m still responsible for my daily expenses, which add up quickly. I need to raise funds to cover my housing, food, and transportation for the year. This is where I’m hoping you might be able to help. My goal is to raise around $15,000 to cover these essential costs. Breaking it down, here’s what your support would help with:

• Housing for the Year: A safe and comfortable place to live is the foundation for everything else. Rent in Israel is high, and my goal is to raise $8,000 to cover my room for the entire year.
• Transportation for the Year: Getting to and from the yeshiva, and exploring the country on my days off, will be key to my experience. My public transportation pass for the year will cost around $800.

Every single donation brings me one step closer to this dream. A gift of $50 would cover my food for a few days. $180 could help with a month of transportation. And a larger gift could secure a month of my housing. This isn’t just a year for me; it’s an investment in a lifelong journey.
